Q: How do I go about renting an apartment?
A: Prime Property Management has a simple 3 step process:
Step 1: Select the property(s) you would like to see in person and request a showing by contacting Ed Habel at (262) 945-0911.
Step 2: Apply: Fill out an application form and submit it along with your earnest money. The earnest money will hold your apartment until your references have been checked and the application process is complete—generally about 2 days.
Step 3: Sign your lease: Once your application is approved, we will schedule a lease sign within 3 business days of approval notification. (out of town residents may sign via fax).
**All earnest money will be applied toward your security deposit. If you choose to withdraw your application at any time, the earnest money will be forfeited. If your application is denied it will be refunded.**
Q: Should I get renters insurance? How do I get it?
A: Yes. All residents should get renters insurance. It is inexpensive and any home insurance agent should be able to assist you. If you need guidance, please contact our leasing specialist Ed Habel:(262) 945-0911.
Q: Do you accept pets?
A: It varies on the individual property. In most cases, a non refundable security deposit will be required.
Q: How much is my security deposit?
A: In most cases, security deposits are equal to one full month’s rent.
Q: When will my security deposit be returned?
A: Security deposits will be returned within 21 days of the last day of your lease. Please give the office your forwarding address to help facilitate the process.
Q: Are the utilities included in the rent?
A: That depends on the property. Our office or the individual property information on our web-site will tell you about the properties you are interested in.
Q: How can I tell what utility costs might be?
A: You can get estimated costs from WE Energies at 1-800-242-9137. They can give you the highest, the lowest or the average bill for any address in the city.
Q: When is rent due and what if I am late?
A: Rent is due on the 1st of the month. If you pay after the 3rd of the month, late charges will be incurred.
Q: What if my rent check bounces?
A: You will be charged an NSF fee in the amount of $50.00. Subsequent payments will have to be made by money order, cashier’s check, or certified check.
Q: Do you offer two-year leases?
A: We are always happy to consider a two-year lease term to any of our residents.
Q: Do you offer short term leases?
A: We prefer annual leases but will consider partial-term leases to balance vacancies during the off season. Rent rates for partial-term leases may be higher than full-term leases.
Q: What if I lose my keys or lock myself out?
A: Any lost keys or lock outs require a member of PPM to bring you a key at a cost of $100.
